How To Unlock The Lost on PS4 (Pre-Afterbirth) - The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth
Seed: Numerous
It has been brought to my attention that I am missing what seems to be a key point in this process: Azazel must die to Satan before he transforms into his hoof-stomping form. So you must get hit by a Satan tear or Brimstone attack to properly unlock The Lost. Again, that seems to be what works but I have no idea why it's just that version of Satan.
Hey there fellow Noobs! Today, on the Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, it's a very special episode! We finally give in and go to the internet to learn how to unlock the super-secret Rebirth character, The Lost! It's a hell of a process and there are certain quirks unique to doing this on a PS4. In addition to capturing the moment of unlocking The Lost, I wanted to make sure to explain the process I underwent to accomplish this. I hope you all enjoy! :D

And, as always, if you try out any of these particular seeds, let me know how it goes! :D

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is a remake and expansion of the 2011 Indie Game, The Binding of Isaac, and includes the original game's Wrath of the Lamb expansion. Rebirth contains even more content beyond what was remade, including a new final chapter and ending, more playable characters, and way more items, rooms, enemies, bosses, etc. Rebirth was designed by Edmund McMillen and developed Nicalis. Edmund McMillen along with Florian Himsl designed and developed the original The Binding of Isaac. The original was released in 2011 and Rebirth was released November 4, 2014. Rebirth is available on PS4, PC, and XBone.
The Binding of Isaac plays similarly to a classic Zelda game but instead of having any sort of overworld to connect the dungeons like Zelda, instead the entire game is just a line of dungeons. Each "floor", so to speak, is like a whole dungeon in and of itself. It has lots of rooms, items, and a boss. Once the boss is defeated, you can continue to the next floor. Unlike Zelda, there is no backtracking. You just continue going forward.
As you play, you unlock different playable characters, items, and floors. How? Each floor is randomly generated every time you start a new game so no playthrough, or "run", of The Binding of Isaac is the same. Floor layout, enemy placement, items, they are all re-arranged every time the player starts a new game. Items can boost or lessen your stats and some item's descriptions are intentionally vague, requiring the player to figure out what a particular item does simply by playing the game more.
