How to Upload PS5 Video Clips to Phone Playstation App (Best Method)
7To upload PS5 video clips to your phone via the PlayStation App, here’s what you need to do.
Start by setting up auto-upload on your PS5 for convenience. Go to Settings, then Captures and Broadcasts, and select Captures. Turn on Auto-Upload. This links your PS5 to the PlayStation App and uploads manual clips (up to 3 minutes, 1920x1080 resolution or lower) to the cloud automatically.
For this to work, ensure your PS5 stays connected to the internet in rest mode—check Settings, System, Power Saving, Features Available in Rest Mode, and enable Stay Connected to the Internet. Once set, new clips you record will sync without extra effort.
If you have an existing clip or Auto-Upload wasn’t on, you can upload manually. On your PS5, open the Media Gallery from the home screen. Find the video clip you want, highlight it, and press the Options button on your controller. Select Upload to PlayStation App. The clip will transfer to the cloud, but note that only manual recordings upload—auto-captures like trophy videos don’t.
Now, grab your phone and open the PlayStation App. If you don’t have it, download it from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). Sign in with the same PlayStation Network account tied to your PS5. Tap the Game Library icon at the bottom, then select Captures near the top.
Your uploaded clips will appear here, available for 14 days from the upload date.
To save the clip to your phone, tap it to view it full-screen, then hit the download icon, typically an arrow pointing down, in the bottom right. It’ll save to your camera roll or gallery.
