hey guys what's going on it's the
digital tutor here with another
step-by-step tutorial
in today's video i'm going to show you
how you can use the dictation feature in
windows 10
so the dictation feature is basically
when you speak into your microphone say
you've got like a text
document open or a notepad or word
document open
you can actually speak into the
microphone and windows 10 is actually
going to type
what you're speaking onto the word
document so it's very handy
it's a pretty cool feature um obviously
ideal
if you've got a long document to write
if you've suffered a finger injury or a
wrist injury
and you know you can't type so this is
how you do it
uh if you could drop a like on a video

so what i'm going to do in this example
is open up a notepad
i'm going to come down to the search bar
and open up my notepad app
like so
and to activate the dictation you need
to hold
the windows key on your keyboard and
press h
it might come up with a message at the
top if you've not used it before
which is uh going to take you to your
settings to turn this on
so you just go ahead and click here to
turn it on
and now photo again so hold the windows
key and press h
it's going to come up at the top here
saying initializing it's listening
okay and you can see it's actually
typing
it's basically listening to what i am
saying and it is typing
exactly what i am saying
so you can see yes it might be the odd
typo now and again
which is normal but obviously
it's quite a cool feature as i say if
you've got long documents to write
um or you've suffered an injury which is
preventing you from using the keyboard
this is something to bear in mind
