The DAWN collaboration for synchrotron science is working with the Eclipse foundation to release visualization and numeric calculation ability as an eclipse project. At previous eclipse conferences we have shown you some cool visualization which users of DAWN have been able to do - now we will show you how to do this in your own application!

This talk will be an early look at how you can reuse the DAWNSci project to play around with your numerical data. The talk will look at how to load your numerical data into your application by describing it in a way which the DAWN visualization, slicing and tools can understand. We will look at how to read HDF5 files and interact with their content. We will look in detail about how to reuse the APIs and what they can provide for your application. We will show you how to describe data in order to reuse it in several ways and suggest a standard which the community as a whole could consider for interacting with numerical data.
