How to use the plot elements of Star Trek: TNG's We'll always have Paris in a TTRPG
This was a fun temporal shenanigans plot. It's not actual time travel, but a weirder take where the timeline is shifting forwards and backwards repeatedly.
The core plot is simple: a scientist (Mannheim) is trying to advance SCIENCE! Goes horribly wrong. The exact specifics though are pretty weird. Walking down the hall, and seeing yourself.... for a moment. But being too close will kill you eventually, and nearly killed Mannheim. It only failed to kill him because he stepped into the rift to the other world he linked to.
Yeah, that's a thing you could toy with, have your players look on the other side! :D Which you need to make up whole-cloth since the TV show literally told us NOTHING.
