UPDATE: Microsoft has said that these updates will not protect XP users from security threats. However, it is still possible to install the patch, so this decision is entirely up to you.

Today, I am going to show you how to manually extend Windows XP's support deadline. This is done by installing a patch that allows Windows XP to check for Windows Embedded POSReady 2009 updates. This will give you official updates and patches from Microsoft until April 2019! While this is not the best method of staying secure with Windows, it is still a great way to keep an older Windows XP PC updated for a few more years.
