Update 1.19 or “The wild update” added a ton of features, most notably a lot of new blocks, game mechanics, mobs, and more unique features like mangrove trees
Update 1.19 also added a whole biome, complete with a boss known as “The Warden”, along with this, Mojang would also add a chat report system in a bugfix update, which ended up infuriating the player base and causing a huge chain reaction, but we’ll get into that later… the wild update would also add an incredibly impressive amount of new features, most notably: the allay, frogs, mangrove items, and more.
Players would have a initially incredibly mixed reaction to this update, Mojang promised a lot of features that they wouldn’t end up adding, this would cause extreme outrage which would prompt a lot of hate to Mojang and would cause users to flock to places like reddit to voice their disapproval, reddit user Tet_rm states:

Updated desert and savanna.
Updated badlands.
Functionality of Fletching Table.
Bundles.
Archeology.
Fireflies.
"Unique identity of different biomes".
This would go on to receive almost 1 thousand upvotes, and many similar posts would receive 10s of thousands of upvotes, criticizing Minecraft and Mojang’s decision to remove these features, obviously everybody was a little bit angry over the promises that Mojang would make to not add Fireflies, Bundles, and many other features that were promised in 1.19

Players would get angry over the removal of fireflies and related features, but when Mojang announced the chat report system, players became aggressively angry at mojang, Minecraft hate would go to almost an all time high, and it’s still that way, players are still really angry over this, and it’s honestly deserved. In a Reddit post with 20k+ upvotes, the top comment is about removing the chat report system, many huge youtubers like Antvenom and Fitmc have made videos about how the Mojang chat report system endangers the community, videos and posts like these have sparked internal outrage, and a lot of hate is being sent to Mojang and Minecraft, this outrage would even reach to places like tiktok, instagram, and twitter where people would slander mojang, making countless posts critiquing the update, although Mojang would not bend to the honest criticism, it released the feature and broke the minecraft community, many servers went into a state of emergency, especially servers with a lot of unfiltered speech like 2b2t, the worst part about the chat report system is the capability for chaos, the chat report system can ban players from playing not just a single server, but all of multiplayer minecraft respectively, which is what makes it so scary. You could be messing around in Minecraft multiplayer and saying some stuff with your friends and immediately get banned from ever playing on a Minecraft server ever again.
