(It means espresso with cream in Italian)

• Espresso + whipped cream.

☕️Mocha

• Espresso + milk + chocolate + sometimes whipped cream, depending on the café.

☕️Latte
(If you like milk more than coffee, this is the one for you)

• A latte is an espresso with lots of milk.

• There is no specific rule to how much milk should be in lattes but it has to be more than other coffees.

origin: Italy

☕️Macchiato

• It is an espresso-based coffee drink with a small amount of milk, usually foamed.

• You can order it as a single or a double.

• Fun Fact: In Italian, macchiato means "stained" or "spotted" so the literal translation of caffè macchiato is "stained” or “marked coffee.”

☕️Lungo

• It is an Espresso but with much more water, it’s so similar to Americano but Lungo is stronger.

origin: Italy

☕️Ristretto

• It is an Espresso shot + half the amount of water.

origin: Italy

☕️Doppio (Double espresso)

• It is a double shot (two shots of) Espresso.

origin: Italy

☕️Espresso (not Expresso)

• It is a coffee-making method in which a small amount of nearly boiling water is forced under pressure (expressed) through finely-ground coffee beans, with a coffee machine of course.

• They say it sounds simple but is difficult to master.

• Espresso is the base for various coffee drinks that we will see in this post.
