Do you know how you show up really makes an impact? It's not just showing up, it's the how you show up.
I was on a podcast this morning and I was excited, pumped up, and ready to go. The guy picked up and started talking, and he was like one level above me. It was crazy - I was on cloud nine, and he was higher. Talk about elevating others--me being the others this time.
The same thing goes the other way around. When we show up not really there and not really fully engaged, then that shows up too. That makes a difference. That makes an impact on just the whole energy around us and what we're doing and what we're up to. It makes an impact, positive or negative, on where we're really heading and the results that we get.
Why?
This experience revealed something crucial about leadership and influence: energy is contagious and amplifying. When someone shows up with higher energy and engagement than you, it immediately elevates the entire interaction. When you show up disengaged or half-present, it diminishes everything around you.
Yesterday we talked about momentum versus discipline and how that discipline to continue doing the right things while maintaining that energy, excitement, drive - that "woo-hoo factor" - is hard to do. But this is exactly what separates average from exceptional Kingdom leadership.
The energy we bring doesn't just affect our own performance; it creates a ripple effect that influences everyone around us and determines the results we achieve in building God's kingdom through our families, businesses, and communities.
Lesson
When we take that moment and make it part of our thing - make that excitement, make that commitment, make that "I am into this" attitude - it just amplifies everything and it gets bigger and easier every time. We keep doing it, we keep repeating it, we keep being that inspirational leader, that driver, that person.
The person people are drawn to and follow. They want to jump on board and get in and say, "Oh wow, I want to be like that. I want to be inspired like that. I want to be around that person. I succeed better, I grow better around that energy."
This is about having the discipline to keep going every day with intentional energy and presence. It's not about fake enthusiasm or manufactured excitement - it's about bringing your full self to your calling and letting that authentic engagement inspire others to step up to their own potential.
The compound effect is powerful: when you consistently show up with high energy and full engagement, it becomes easier each time because people around you start matching and even exceeding your energy. You create an upward spiral of inspiration and momentum that serves the Kingdom.

Consider your daily interactions - with your spouse, children, employees, or community. What would happen if you consistently showed up as the most engaged, inspired person in the room? How might that change the energy and results in those relationships and situations?
Commit to one specific practice this week to "turn back on" your energy and full engagement in an area where you've been coasting.
