HP Stream 7 Gaming - Playstation Portable Emulation - PPSPP
***UPDATE: BEST TESTED GAME SETTINGS IN DESCRIPTION ****
Created by Henrik Rydgård
With the right settings, the HP Stream 7 runs many PSP games at 100% speed using PPSSPP. Testing Little Big Planet Portable and Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep demonstrates how PPSSPP improves on the PSP gaming experience with full HD resolution. It's brilliant! - see for yourself.

Also, the on screen tablet controls work GREAT. This is one of the few emulators you can play perfectly on the go on a Windows 8.1 tablet. :D

You can experience some of the Playstation catalogue with a better experience then you can on the original hardware. How great is that?

Now, unfortunately, I mis-aligned the camera so a small part of the upper screen is off camera.. and this is where the emulation speed indicator of PPSSPP is. But as you can tell it is running at 100% emulation speed. And... it came in clearer than most of my recordings do so I thought "Why waste it?", so I uploaded it anyway.

There are a lot of options on the current version of PPSPP, and some are labelled "speedhacks". Some work towards proper speed and emulation, and some completeley mess it up. I'll post a complete PPSPP config where I was able to get 100% in both games. As a default install, I was getting fluctuations from 100% to mid 70%.. and this will not do. The emulator has popping and scratching audio when it does not achieve 100% speed, so you want to avoid this at all costs.

***System
UNCHECK all options. I have found this to be the most stable configuration. If you do have peroformance issues with a game, you may wish to test out some of the options under Emulation, however most of them are listed as experimental or unstable.

The PSSSPP Emulator can be downloaded Here:
http://www.ppsspp.org/

It's a cinch to install, but it needs the rights settings to get the HP Stream 7 to play at 100% in HD resolution. I recommend you start with the settings I have found work the best, and if you have problems with a game, try some of the Emulation settings under the System tab to see if you can overcome the problem. PPSPP may still receive updates for better stability, but right now, these settings seem to work best with the games I've been testing. ;)

...also, if you want to see more PSP emulation videos, let me know.
