A hero sets forth on her way to Hyrule, but ends up in Faron Woods and to get her compass taken by a troublemaker named Skull Kid. With her crossbows as her weapons, Linkle takes on the monsters summoned by Skull Kid in an attempt to get her compass back.

As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description

Linkle's Tale was first added in Hyrule Warriors Legends, so it wasn't in the Wii U game. Linkle was added as a DLC character for the Wii U version after the release of Hyrule Warriors Legends for 3DS, but Linkle's Tale was only in the 3DS version. As the Nintendo Switch version has everything from both the Wii U and 3DS versions and is the complete version, Linkle's Tale is included as well.
This takes place after the Faron Woods scenario in the main adventure, so Linkle's Tale is more of a side adventure, and she ends up taking the wrong way and into Faron Woods instead of Hyrule Castle.
Along the way, a mischievous imp known as Skull Kid steals the Compass from Linkle, so she equips her Crossbows, which is a Fire element weapon, and this scenario does recommend Fire, as this will give Linkle an advantage, and the most frequent foes are Big Poes, well they are not the Icy variant, which would have an elemental weakness to Fire, so I believe the reason why it recommends Fire is because Linkle's Crossbows are the Fire element.
Skull Kid does not have an elemental weakness to Fire, he instead has an elemental weakness to Light element, and Linkle does not have a Light element weapon, unless you replay that scenario with a Light element weapon with a different character.
Skull Kid is full of tricks, not only does he teleport between keep, but he puts a Gatekeeper which Linkle needs to take down in order to get through. Linkle's army does not contain any warriors, she instead has a horde of Cuccos to assist her, and throughout the scenario, three Cucco chicks appear, and Linkle has to protect them from monsters, and the Cucco chicks can grow into Gold Cuccos if Linkle escorts them to the feeding grounds, this is a side mission, but you do get some powerful allies, as Gold Cuccos are stronger than regular Cuccos.
As for Linkle in combat, she is a fun character to play as, because the more successful attacks she pulls off against enemies, this charges her gauge, where if you use C1, it will unleash continuous attacks from her Crossbows, Linkle is one character that I like using in this game.
After many keeps and an attempt to capture Skull Kid and get the Compass back, he is at the Fairy Fountain, where he will fight, Skull Kid has some very tricky moves, so it will take a while to get in some good hits on him. Once Skull Kid has taken enough damage, he will warp to another keep, and at some point, the Compass will glow, which will prevent Skull Kid from warping, allowing Linkle to defeat Skull Kid and get her Compass back.
I like Linkle's theme song, it goes very well in these kinds of scenarios, and as for the Heart Container and Heart Piece, the Heart Container is west of South Square Keep, where is where you would have obtained the bow in the first Faron Woods scenario. You have to capture North Square Keep to get the Heart Piece, and both of these can only be collected by Linkle.
The Gold Skulltula is found west of the Deku Tree, and this will be it for the first scenario of Linkle's Tale, there are some more scenarios later on in other areas, so Linkle will get more action.
