0We continue on with Linkle's story, and this take place right after the Lake Hylia part of the story. Volga has appeared, and Darunia wants to challenge him to a battle, but because of Darunia's overconfidence, he is willing to take on Volga, even at the risk of his life, so Linkle and Ruto must get through Volga's army and save Darunia before anything fatal happens to him.

I do like the sunset background for Lake Hylia in this scenario, as this does take place after the Ocarina of Time scenario, after Impa has defeated the fake Zelda. Linkle has ended up in Lake Hylia, where Volga launches his attack, and Darunia wants to fight Volga in a 1-on-1 fight.
The recommended element is Water, and even though you can only pick Linkle in the character selection menu, you do get to play as Ruto in this scenario, and even if she doesn't have the best combos, her attacks do have a wide range, and if her gauge is full, you can shoot water at enemies up to three times.
At the start of the scenario, Ruto and Linkle are in the Water Temple, and we must assist the Goron Engineers to the door, so that is a lot of Bokoblins and Lizalfos to take down, and Ruto does have an elemental advantage against the Lizalfos. Once all three Goron Engineers are escorted to the door, they should be able to open it, allowing you to get to Darunia, as he will be under attack by Volga's forces, so you must get to Darunia before it is too late. You will be dealing with a lot of Lizalfos and Dinolfos, specially the chieftain of both, because they are Volga's henchmen.
Volga will send the Lizalfos and Dinolfos to attack the base, so it is good to have Linkle and Ruto split up, have one guard the base, and the other help out Darunia.
The Dark Forces keeps will open, and both Dinolfos and Lizalfos chieftain will show up, and they are much tougher than than normal, so it will take more hits to take them down, but as the Lizalfos have an elemental weakness to Water, Ruto should be able to handle the Lizalfos Chieftain easier.
Now that Volga's henchmen are take down, it is time to guide Darunia to where Volga awaits, but there is a lot of Lizalfos to get through, so it would be best to have Ruto take out all of those Lizalfos.
Once Darunia has reached his destination, it is time to fight against Volga, and like the Lizalfos, Volga has an elemental weakness to Water, using Ruto in that fight should be easier, you can have Linkle fight Volga as well, but it would be better to use Ruto for that fight. Volga is still a tough opponent, and you do get to fight him a lot in this game.
The scenario is complete, and in Hyrule Warriors Legends, you don't unlock Ruto in this scenario, even though you do get to play as her, and for collectables, the Gold Skulltula is above Temple Face Keep, so it shouldn't be too hard to miss, and for the Heart Container is east of Cliffside Keep, and you will to bomb that rock, and only Ruto can open the chest to the Heart Container, while the Heart Piece for Linkle can be obtained by capturing Lakeside Keep.
