The cube is being examined by... employees. They know it's not a weapon, but they don't know what it's for. That's not quite the point in all of this. They don't like it. They need to destroy it. That's what they want to do. That's basically their only goal. Their resources are limited though.
Braxton tries sneaking out again. He opens the door quickly this time. It creaks. Better to make a loud sound quick and short than to open the door slowly and have it last long. He looks over the railing and sees a guard with a flashlight looking around downstairs. Braxton sneaks his way to the carpeted stairs on the right. The guard walks to the cafeteria out of sight. Do these places even have cafeterias? Yeah, like I'd know. He thinks he knows where they could be keeping the belongings of all the patients. But it's not long until he realizes he can't find the room he's looking for. And he thinks he's lost. There's a few guards on shift. This can't be good for him. Maybe he could hide somewhere. Footsteps can be heard approaching him. He is at some other hallway with the rooms for other patients. A soft crying sound can be heard from one of the dark rooms.
Going deeper down he finds the basement. There's a stairwell that... splits into three paths? Why are there 3 different ways to go? Does it all lead to the same place? Or are there 3 different basements? He chooses to go right. Down here is a boiler room. Some kind of machine can be heard. And there seems to be some kind of electrical sound. He has no knowledge of how these things work so he thinks it's normal. There's a dim red light only meant to illuminate the area at the entrance. In the corner to the right is a dirty piece of paper. Some patient must of made it, because what's written on it seems too relatable. Something that he hasn't quite noticed or realized before. "Everyone here has red eyes except for us" is written with a crude style. Nothing else on the paper. Braxton takes the dusty note and really wants to show this to Kaden. He sneaks out of the basement, not forgetting his goal. But he has to set aside his goal for now. On top of that, he hears a few guards in the area whispering while walking. He needs to get out of there. Quietly crawling behind something that's too dark to see, the beam of a flashlight can be seen lurking past. When the cost is clear, he tries his best to retrace his footsteps. He couldn't help but notice that there... was a kid sleeping under a table in a fetal position. The guards just passed this area too. This place must be very unprofessional. Moving on, he sees areas that look familiar and he goes to the stairs he came from. Going up the stairs, he walks almost carelessly back to his room. Success.
