I Only Play Games That Are Popular - Episode 06: The World's Most Dangerous Dating Sim
I managed to finish up the second disc in this stream. Granted, the Steam version doesn't separate the game into the original PS1's individual discs, so I'm mainly going by KI's vivid memories of the game itself. Also, as it turns out, I did get the final party member before the end of Disc 2: KI thought I meant that the disc itself would end when I got the eighth and final member, while in reality, there was still a fair amount left to go through.
Of course, I'm kind of getting ahead of myself there: I also managed to grab the seventh party member, Eiko. Eiko's voice took quite a process to think of, but in the end, I went with the laziest route possible, simply because the best voice I could think of was really hard to keep consistent. Amareth, on the other hand, already had an established voice, because I like speaking with a Russian accent. Kind of wish Lani became a party member, simply because I think the voice I picked for her was probably my favorite to portray in the game. Also, spoilers (for a game that's well over a decade old): R.I.P. Queen Brahne. As much as it hurt, I will miss performing your reference voice.
I also got to encounter zombies for the first time in this game, which meant the best way to fight them was, of course, with the unconventional method of using healing spells on them. Always thought that was a clever way of doing things to be honest with you, though I could never understand why healing zombies killed them: wouldn't it just revert them to their pre-dead form or something? Is healing strictly associated with holy magic and zombies strictly arcane? I'm probably looking into this way too far.
