I only play retro Ninja games on the Wii U now.
Action Smacchan has been following the way of the ninja, paved by the Wii U eShop closure. On the path, Smacchan found Little Ninja Brothers, thinking it was a JRPG. While yes, in many ways, it is an RPG similar to Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy, Little Ninja Brothers does not exhibit a turn-based battle system. Thus, it may be more akin to Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, or even an entry in the Tales of Series, like Tales of Symphonia or Tales of Arise as the random encounters include oldschool Action-RPG battles. The variety in the gameplay offer a unique experience that may even be a bit ahead of its time with the RPG overworld traversal and narrative, ARPG battles, and assorted minigames. This game isn't often spoken of by many gamers (at least the ones Action Smacchan talks to), so Smacchan considers this game a hidden gem of the NES generation. Strange games like this from the 8-bit era deserve more love for being experimental. It's also really cool that it's multiplayer. The option of going on this adventure with 2 player co-op is totally rad.
That's why Action Smacchan recommends Little Ninja Brothers to be a game to get on the Wii U eShop before Nintendo closes its doors for good.
