I spent 100 HOURS shiny hunting in Dynamax Adventures
606Hi Wayfarers! When the Crown Tundra first released for Pokemon Sword and Shield, I think it’s safe to say that I was extremely excited. But something I didn’t anticipate was just how much fun I’d find in a mysterious new mode called Dynamax Adventures, where you could catch and shiny hunt a tonne of legendary Pokemon by travelling through a dungeon of sorts with other players. You’d rent Pokemon with set abilities and moves, vote on a path to travel down and battle your way to the legendary in style, with just 4 lives between your whole team before it’s game over. And, despite the NPC’s absolute best attempts to spoil the party, I loved it. Fast forward a few years and a bunch of shiny hunting adventures later to March 2025, and I was ready to go back to this mode with a fresh mindset & new purpose. This time I’d be going back with the sole intention of shiny hunting my favourite legendary Pokemon live on stream, while judging how effective this mode is for shiny hunting in general and seeing if it's as fun as I remember. Whether it turns out to be amazing or terrible, shiny hunting your favourite legendary Pokemon at odds as low as 1/100 is far too good of an opportunity to pass up, so let’s see if it really is as good as it sounds…
