I experienced an error while saving a state while playing Crash Bandicoot 3, Japanese version that then caused this thing you see in this video. Technology sure sucks. ALL I WANTED TO DO WAS GET TO THE POINT WHERE I GET TO 99 LIVES! AND THEN EVENTUALLY TO 105%. AND NO, LOADING THAT SAVE YOU SEE THERE IS NOT AN OPTION. ALL THE LIFE BOXES COME BACK AND THAT'S JARRING. WOULD BE ACCEPTABLE ON CONSOLE BECAUSE WHAT CAN YOU DO, BUT SINCE I EMULATE...

I did this with VLC because there's multiple things that Fraps can't handle and I don't have a capturer because I don't need any. I usually screenshot.

NOTE: I'll probably just copy the save slot to another slot, replace the original save slot with a new retry accompanied a save state, and then use another save state with the other save and reach 99 lives since I'm close to it, then delete them and continue with the retry save and save state. THAT IS IF I DON'T GET ME TO DO ALL 13 LEVELS AGAIN QUICKLY.
