So here it is: a wall-based, instant carry binary adder with the new copper bulbs and NO redstone dust! Not only can this bad boi calculate as many bits as you want, but it also provides a perfectly synchronized, 13 game tick output.

Note that I called it a Carry Cancel Adder in the video, but technically, by definition, a CCA relies on signal strength comparisons through the comparators. Nonetheless, my design is based on the same primary logic, it’s just that mine uses piston retractions to perform the cancels instead. (This could also be thought of as a wall-based instant carry adder.)

Some things I forgot to mention in the video:
- Sending a 1 redstone tick pulse to the sticky piston allows the wall to be pushed into or retracted out of place, without directly affecting the wall or updating the observers. If the piston was extended for longer, the piston head itself would change the shape of the entire wall and cause an unwanted output.

- The pistons that push the walls into place HAVE to be 2 blocks above where each observer output is. This is because if the piston was pushing/pulling a wall directly above the wall that an observer was looking at, it would change that wall no matter what, causing an unwanted observer update.

- When the shape of a wall is changed, for example by a block placed next to it or a trapdoor closing up against it, it only changes all the walls BELOW it. It does not change any of the walls above it. This is extremely useful and provides the same exact behavior as the slab-stack in MagicalGent's design- allowing a carry signal to only travel forwards to the more significant bits, and not backwards.
