This is a pretty straightforward item, easy to figure out by looking (only instructions are on the side of the box). A simple wedge-in-notch lock. It’s made of a type of plastic that’s a bit brittle, so I would recommend taking care when using the lock latch.
There are quite a lot of size notches so it will fit a lot of different drawer sizes, but they’re far enough apart that there will likely be the occasional drawer it just doesn’t quite fit tight enough in. That should be a small amount, though, because of the very thoughtful and useful pads on the ends. They’ll allow some squishing to fit in place. The tighter the better, of course, but don’t try to overdo it or you’ll break the latch.
I’m pleased they’re clear plastic as opposed to a color. It allows them to be used from side to side as well, when the drawer size allows, without blocking sight of the contents. I originally wanted these for my desk drawers, but it turns out the drawers are too deep for the longest size and not quite wide enough for the shortest, so I ended up using them in the kitchen.
