132Think of an isometric PC racing game from the late 90s, with network multiplayer, vast landscapes, weather, a choice of vehicles, including police car, mini and a BUS, and what do you think of? Well, in my case, I couldn't for the life of me remember what it was... my initial thought was Power Drive, but that was just lacking the landscapes and graphics, next I thought I might have completely imagined it....but thanks to a couple of friendly people in MS-DOS Facebook groups I was finally reminded.... IGNITION, published by Virgin Interactive and launched in 1997 for DOS and Windows. What a game this is. In terms of isometric racers, this is an epic, 3D, textured beauty of a game, with plenty to keep you occupied for many, many weeks to come. Join me as I get extremely excited to play this for the first time in about 18 years!
This game is also known as Bleifuss Fun in Germany and Fun Tracks in France and is developed by Unique Development Studios.
Hopefully if anyone has the same amnesia as me, this text will be picked up by Google and frantic searches will reveal this very video.... Hopefully.
