The Extra stage works a bit different from the normal game. Instead of Fever being a short timer that recharges when you don't use it, in Extra you have a limited amount of Fever that doesn't recharge.
You also only get 1 life to beat the stage. If you die it's game over.
You get 99:00 seconds of Fever invincibility time to beat the stage. There is an achievement to beat it with 20:00 seconds remaining.
This stumped me for quite some time, but after some experimenting it seems like you have quite a bit of leeway.
The Rolling shottype really helps against the blue UFO phase and the rainbow UFO spam. Thunder is very good for the red UFO's.
This playstyle isn't exactly good for score. I mean my normal clear was 17 times this score. Extra scoring seems kinda eh though, since you can just spam Fever all the time, unlike the normal game.
You can probably sit between the lasers at the end to save some more time, but the safespot is incredibly precise with this movements speed.
