I'M BACK! Lightspeed Ray Celesting Loomian Legacy Online Battles
4Celesting is a loomian i initially thought was bad because to me, the defenses below base 80 made it not bulky enough, even with it's huge 125 health. 103 range attack is equal to Greninja, but Greninja has protean, a powerful offensive ability, while Celesting's abilities are either useful but niche or gimmicky. The defensive typing also made me rather worried about many matchups. The typing is good offensively which is why Falkyrie is the wallbreaker that it is, but Celesting is outclassed offensively and defensively it's not great in terms of it's type.
After this video, however, i have been convinced that Celesting has a lot of potential. It is much bulkier than i thought, easily surviving Vesperatu slap down and probably power cuffs Mutagon Mega punch. The typing also walls many specific loomians like non-dark-surge Duskit. It's similar to VGC Ho-oh, a pokemon that has the specific type to deal with many pokemon. Ho-oh was niche because it competed with other restricted team slots, but Celesting has none of those problems. In a have 7 bring 5 format that loomian legacy uses, Celesting is even better as if unecessary with it's typing it can just be left aside.
My set is enough speed to outrun base 85 loomians that aren't nimble ( halvantic for example, 168 speed ), 100 range attack to two shot max hp Obsidrugon - my best matchup - with flash 'n' flee. The remainder is max health because i play too much pokemon and the rest is thrown into melee defense. Also the personality is robust for me, but if you want nimble you can outrun nimble base 85 loomians. I am running the regular ability to prevent beasts' slumber from Obsidrugon and hypnotizes altogether ( SA is trash anyways ). Moves are Lightspeed Ray, Flash 'n' Flee, Barbs and either Dodge when health amulet/shade pearl, icicle traps or barter when heavy shackles/volcanic ash. Other viable moves are probably deja vu, luster loot, metal blast, reflection burst and health gift which i recommend if you run specialty boots on Celesting, a set that honestly i feel like has potential.
