I'm boycotting #intergalacticthehereticprophet. A real feck you to the Akira fans, just you wait.
But then again, I hate most of the developers works. An 'acquired taste' thing, I think. But, that movie I mentioned, the Akira one... special and fond place in my memory systems... never going away.
....
Also, contrary to what anyone else says, the reason for this boycott is not based on the 'appearance' of the main protagonist. So many out there are judging the book by it's cover, so to speak. Realize that in the game, Jordan is not an amnesiac. There are reasons yet revealed on why she still fights in that world, or of the constant oppression within it.
Now, this is a guess but, in that fictional universe, very few outsiders had survived the repeated barrage of the cyborgs and mechas swarming, and exterminating the enemies... for centuries, supposedly.
No offense, I've seen this story many, many times before. And in recent history, few projects anywhere have ever stood out as true 'masterpieces' in the genre of Sci-Fi.
....
But the setting and themes explored in the game... To me, it feels like a hard cult-and-taboo project interspersed in one. Reminiscent of the Cyberpunk 2077 experience, to some degree. Some cyberpunk themed projects exhibited some fun stuff when I played or watched them. However, something about this Intergalactic - The Heretic Prophet project rubs me the wrong way... and in multiple different ways.
