Ubisoft Games very rarely get me excited these days but Immortals Fenyx Rising is especially concerning to me due to the fact a lot of younger people will likely play it. Having Microtransactions in Single Player titles like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Shadow of War is bad enough but doing it in a game a lot of kids will likely play due to the Breath of The Wild influence is even worse.

People need to realise that Ubisoft design their games around including these to ensure more people buy them which often means the core game has tons of boring activities, is designed around you wasting your time if you don’t buy double XP boosts and this design philosophy generally results in a soulless, generic game which can be said about most of their series in recent times.

I know I could ignore these games, but this is the mainstream industry right now and exposing more people to the lies and deception involves is important to ensuring more people start to seek out alternative experiences and find either better large studios like Larian to invest time in, or even indie games.

I’ll likely be skipping this game, bring on Baldur’s Gate 3 in a few days and then Cyberpunk next month.
