Rumours plus an Industry Insider who tweeted about it yesterday, suggest an Outer Worlds sequel (The Outer Worlds 2 ) is in pre-production. If this is the case I do feel Obsidian are really going to need to lift their game if they don't want another Pillars of Eternity 2 situation, in which the sequel sold far less then the first due to waning interest in the IP.

I feel it needs identity and does need to step out of the Fallout New Vegas (a much better game by the way) and make it its own thing if they want to find any success with it.

On another note, I'd much rather Microsoft let them use the Fallout IP to make a REAL New Vegas sequel but regardless, I'll keep an eye on this given I like some of Obsidian's prior work and I'm interested in seeing how it all turns out.
