Ubisoft has recently made the decision to cancel the sequel to Immortals Fenyx Rising, a game that was initially overlooked but eventually found success through Xbox Game Pass on the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles. According to a report from VGC, the cancellation of the sequel was due to perceived challenges in establishing the game's Intellectual Property (IP). While Immortals Fenyx Rising had managed to build a modest audience, it relied significantly on sales achieved through discounting, which may have contributed to the difficulties in securing the IP's future.
