Player outcry led Owlcat Games to remove the controversial player-tracking tool, AppsFlyer, from Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous just one day after its introduction. The tool's data collection and new End User License Agreement received negative feedback, resulting in negative reviews and a petition. Owlcat Games quickly responded, deleting all collected data and reverting the EULA. They pledged not to use AppsFlyer again in any future updates or games.
