In a Wicked Age - The Altar Wants Your Legacy
1The Age of Retribution had begun. A city-state’s guild houses banded together for the first time, uniting to push back the looming presence of the undead. Other cities followed suit and soon humanity held a great deal of new territory, and the valuable resources that came with it.
But with these resources also came new conflict. Some of it was with the undead, but much of it was between warring human city-states. Ideologies clashed – there were many who believed some of their neighboring nations had gone too far with their darker rituals, handing their destinies over to demons or strange gods. Sensing the increase in power, magical beasts once again stalked the lands, a few of the smarter ones raising armies of their own.
This age shows no signs of drawing to a close, and it grows ever bloodier. Resources have improved, but are not infinite and nations make war with each other at the drop of a hat. It is a very tense time, and the desire for conquest only grows in the hearts of every city-state.
The Oracle we drew prompts from for this game was God-Kings of War. The results were:
- A prodigy-mage, still a maid, drunk with occult power.
- A youth or maiden, the reincarnation of a great hero, whose soul remembers glory.
- An altar to devils of the waste, stinking with gore.
- The head of a high war-captain, in a carved wooden cask.
