Over the years, the Avengers and the X-Men have had a lot of crossover. After one of several conflicts between the two teams, the Avengers Unity Division was created, which was basically a formation of the Avengers with mutants being part of this division.

For example, Beast wasn't exactly the first mutant in the Avengers, but he was the first X-Man to join the team. His presence was important because Beast is one of the mutants with the most unusual appearance, and being a scientist, a completely centered and educated guy, he changed many people's views on mutants. Later, Beast also became part of the Defenders and took Professor Xavier's place in the Illuminati, which are almost a spin-off of the Avengers.

Cable, Cyclops' son from an alternate future, joined the third version of the Avengers Unity Division alongside Rogue and Deadpool. Even so, Cable was a huge reinforcement for the team.

Rogue, one of the most important members of the X-Men, started as a villain in the Brotherhood of Mutants. She was invited to be part of the first formation of the Unity Division but initially declined. Over time, the tension eased, and she joined one of the team formations that brought together Avengers and X-Men.

Storm, a symbol of leadership among the X-Men, was part of the Avengers for a short period. She was married to Black Panther and was part of an alternative formation of the Fantastic Four before joining the Avengers.

Wolverine is perhaps the most prominent mutant within the Avengers. He has been part of several formations, not only the Unity Division but also the main Avengers team. Even Captain America has said he is the most unlikely Avenger of all, but this also made him one of the best members in the history of Marvel's heroes.

Sabretooth, despite being essentially a villain, was part of a version of the Avengers in the 1950s when Nick Fury led the team. Even if you don't count that, there was a modern comic where a version of the Red Skull altered the morality of heroes and villains, making Sabretooth a hero temporarily.

Sunspot, a Brazilian who started his career with the New Mutants and later joined X-Force, was invited to join the Avengers. He kind of funded the team with his money and founded a parallel team called the US Avengers.

Sunfire has always been a difficult mutant to get along with, even among the X-Men. He was invited to the Avengers Unity Division by Wolverine and spent a short but intense time there. During this time, besides defeating a conspiracy by the Red Skull, Sunfire had a good fight against Kang, where he gained even more cosmic power.

Monet Saint Croix, known as Penance, was imprisoned by her own family for many years. After freeing herself and adopting the name Penance, she joined the X-Men during the Generation X era and was very important there. When everything she fought for was destroyed, she joined the Avengers Unity Division to face Captain Krakoa. As part of the Avengers, Penance did an excellent job.

Psylocke 2, also known as Kwannon, lived in Psylocke's body for a while, and even after dying, she was resurrected with her original body. In Krakoa, she quickly rose in importance among mutants. She joined the Unity Division out of a desire for revenge but proved to be a valuable member.

Havok, Cyclops' problematic brother, was the first leader of the Avengers Unity Division. This role was given to him as a goodwill gesture by the Avengers after a war against the X-Men involving the Phoenix Force. Havok's character was always in question, but he started off well, defeating the Apocalypse Twins. Later, he left and returned to his villainous inclinations.

Cannonball, who started with the New Mutants and then joined X-Force, was the first graduate with a diploma to join the X-Men. He joined the Avengers with Sunspot. In the Avengers, Cannonball met Smasher, with whom he formed a relationship and had a child.
