How to Beat Headmistress Hecate in Hades II Guide
Wazzup Everyone, Welcome back to another video guide on how to beat headmistress hecate in hades 2.
In Hades 2, the boss fight against Hecate is divided into three phases, each featuring several shared attacks. The battle begins with Hecate using a purple pulsing attack that creates an expanding ring of damaging energy around her. This ring reaches its apex and then retracts. To counter this, you can either attack her from a distance while dodging, or wait until the ring retracts to attack Hecate.
Throughout the fight, Hecate will split into three clones at various points in the arena. Each clone performs attacks based on the current phase. In the first phase, the clones use a short-range fire attack. Keep dodging the attacks and once you have an opening, start attacking her again.
Another attack to watch for is her double wave attack, where Hecate fires waves of green energy. These waves come in two patterns: a single wave followed by another shortly after, or two waves fired simultaneously, creating a wide attack. When Hecate charges her staves, you can either attack her from a distance while dodging or position yourself behind her. If she uses the double-wave pattern, you can immediately counterattack. If it’s a single wave, wait to dodge the second wave before attacking.
At two-thirds health, Hecate transitions to a new phase by teleporting to the center of the arena, shielding herself, and summoning Witches that fire projectiles. To end this phase transition, you must defeat the Witches. While she’s shielded, Hecate casts spells including exploding glyphs, green waves that travel out and back to her, and a rotating split beam attack. To avoid these, dodge the glyphs, sprint around the arena to avoid the green waves, and dodge through the beam when it nears. Defeating the Witches transitions you to phase two, where the primary difference is the increased intensity and variety of her clones' attacks.
In the second phase, the clones fire long-range magick balls, which are harder to dodge but slow. In the final phase, the clones use Hecate’s purple pulsing ring attack. The real Hecate’s health bar will decrease when hit, so you need to strike each clone to identify the real one.
At one-third health, Hecate initiates another phase transition, summoning more Witches and casting a Hex that transforms you into a sheep temporarily, reducing your movement and sprint speed. To avoid the Hex, use obstacles or walls, or let an Animal Familiar absorb it for you, with Hecate commenting on this if it happens. In the final phase, Hecate uses a burst of green waves attack. To counter this, either attack her from a distance or get behind her to avoid the attack and deal damage. By mastering the timing and patterns of Hecate’s attacks, utilizing status effect Boons, and efficiently managing her phase transitions, you can defeat Hecate in Hades 2.
