Here we have Lab Zero's second project. A turn-based RPG that uses elements from various genres like platformers and metroidvania.

Aside from Start and Select the game uses six buttons overall. The first four are assigned to a part member for attacking and defending purposes. The R1 is used for weapon selection while L1 is used for making the entire team defend as well as for fleeing purposes.

The fun in this game is that although it's turn-based you still need to be in the ready as you have the opportunity to block enemy attacks. This is a big move as most turn-based RPGs rely on character stats when it comes to defense. Here you can make a character block by pressing the same button used for attacking. The catch here is that blocking uses meter, which is built up for healing as well as for more powerful attacks. You have to be efficient with your defense in order to save that meter.

The metroidvania comes into play outside of combat. As your heroes traverse the landscape there are some areas that can only be accessed when you have a certain item or ability. In this video Ajna was able to get through passages blocked by vines upon getting the axe.

In terms of lore it seems to be that the game borrows some elements from the Mayan or Aztec, although there are characters from other cultures like a European, a Middle-Eastern, and a Goth. In the crowdfunding page there are upcoming characters like a Hawaiian and a knight. The list goes on and on.

I guess Indivisible got its name from its party mechanic. The characters can be coordinated so well that no one would be able to split them apart.

I'm looking forward to seeing this game get released and garner success.
