Taking a break from spook month for something with a bit more ambience. Although this is essentially just an improvisation over the root of a seventh chord, there's still plenty of nuance going on here.
I really enjoyed getting to play around with making the sound effects in the background, including but not limited to cymbal scrapes with a triangle beater on the ride cymbal, brushes on the crash cymbal, wind chimes, shaker, and claves. I tried something new this time too - I held down the vibraphone pedal for the entire song. (okay maybe I put a brick on the pedal because my legs got tired, but don't worry about it lol) I think this effect worked really well! The ringing from all the notes really adds to the atmosphere.
