In 1985, GRiD Systems Corporation announced InteGRiD for their GRiDCASE users, many of whom had opted to run MS-DOS instead of the CCOS operating system that had been used on the earlier Compass machines. InteGRiD was created as a compatibility layer to allow the various bits of productivity software that had been created for the Compass, to run unchanged under MS-DOS, as well as bring forward the unique multitasking and windowing environment that had been present on the Compass.
Since InteGRiD is a standard MS-DOS application, that assumes an IBM compatible machine with CGA, it can be run under a virtual machine or emulator alongside MS-DOS 3.x, and I am doing it inside MAME here on an emulated IBM 5160 XT running at 4.77 megahertz.
