internet and networking for newbies 13 - what is dial up and broadband DSL, cable and fiber?
------------------ Useful Links ------------------------------------
Why is broadband called broadband?
Phone frequencies are 300 Hz to 3.4 kHz, the band of frequencies is 3.1 kHz. However data transmission over the internet for DSL can be 10kHz to 100 kHz, the frequency band is broad compared to the phone. Therefore more data can be transmitted.
