As a soldier he has experienced more than most in his 10 year career. Enlisted into the Rifle Brigage at 18, Victor Gregg saw action in Palestine, El Alamein and Arnhem before becoming a prisoner of war with the Nazis where he was due to be executed by firing squad.

But, Victor Gregg survived by escaping the infamous allied bombing of Dresden which happened 66 years ago this week.

Victor came in to talk to British Forces News about his book "Rifleman" and began by describing being in a Nazi Punishment Prison the night Dresden was bombed.
