The game's made by Joni Toivanen. I'm writing it here because it's horribly butchered in the video.

Alan's Psychedelic Journey fits the category of being somewhat arcade-like: as it is also a 7DRL, this doesn't come across as surprising. My paramount concern with arcade roguelikes is that they, like any good arcade game, require a proper way to keep track of score and/or progress. I like the different mushroom effects and the gamble item (booze) but unfortunately there's no sense of getting anywhere. To be honest, I actually want to see some picturesque help screens ala Pac-man or Galaga, indicating point values and whatnot. Most importantly, showing score as you go through the game is necessary if you're going to make score the sole replayability factor.

I give it an A for concept, but only a B- in execution. You can trust my ratings, I have seven professional degrees in the roguelike arts!
