6Is Elden Ring going to be The Game to bring Soulslike difficulty and death mechanics into a more accessible soulsborne-like game, so more players can experience a Soul-like game which otherwise they wouldn't even try or stick with it.
Elden Ring copies a lot from Dark Souls 3, but brings new features like introducing many new magic-focus abilities, open world, available on many platforms, enable to spawn close to bosses on death (either on Sites of Grace or Stakes of Marika), less dark and intimidating visuals, travel faster using Spectral Steed (horse), have weapons that focus on precise aiming, You can spawn spirit to help you in battle using rebirth monument and option to play in co-op.
All of these features and considering the similarities between Elden Ring and Dark Souls III suggest that From Software wants to bring its successful Soul genre to a wider audience in a more accessible form of it.
