155I've had some feedback in the comments recently about Humankind being 'just a civ clone' or that Humankind is just a copy of Civ. Others have rightly questioned: will Humankind be as good as civ?
In this video I aim to address the former - is Humankind a Civ killer, or civ clone? I argue it's actually much different.

After providing my inital reviews of the good and bad of Humankind during the Victor Opendev and the Humankind Game Closed Beta, I wanted to draw some direct comparisons between Civ and Humankind. Many people, including myself, have speculated about Humankind being a "Sid Meier's Civilization Killer". Others label it a civ clone. I argue it's obviously similar, but certainly distinct enough to never be a clone!

CUSTOMIZE YOUR LEADER
In HUMANKIND™, you’ll be playing the leader of your society as an avatar that you create and customize! Your avatar will evolve visually over the course of the game as your civilization develops. You’ll also be able to level up your leader via a meta-progression system to unlock custom looks that you can showoff to strangers and friends alike in multiplayer matches up to 8 players.
