Is Katy Perry leaving 'American Idol' for Orlando Bloom?
Katy Perry apparently stunned fans with a huge career announcement.
Orlando Bloom's fiancée just stated that she will be stepping down as an American Idol judge shortly.
On the most recent edition of The Tonight Show, Katy told Jimmy Kimmel, "I love Idol so much, it's connected me with the heart of America."
Nonetheless, she said, "But I feel like I need to go out and feel that pulse of my own beat."
When the show presenter questioned Katy if her co-stars Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie were aware of her decision, the artist denied it.
"They'll find out tonight," the 39-year-old pop artist said.
Lifting the veil on the rationale for this move, the Roar hitmaker stated, "I love the show so much," before adding, "but I want to see the world."
"Maybe I'll come back if they have me one day," she said.
It is worth noting that this comes after claims circulated on the internet that the singer and her long-term boyfriend, Orlando Bloom, were having a falling out.
An informant told Life & Style that the pair seemed to be having different lifestyles.
"Katy is happy filming American Idol or promoting her shoe line," the person said.
"While Orlando would rather be jumping out of an airplane or off a mountain," the insider added before signing off.
Thus, Katy Perry appears to be changing her lifestyle in order to spend more time with Orlando Bloom.
