Will the BfA Stat Squish make old raids harder? I tested the speed of running old raids on the Battle for Azeroth alpha against the speed of characters on Legion. The BfA Alpha character I used to test Legacy Raid farm speeds was a level 110 (not 120, the new level cap) mage in gear roughly equivalent to Antorus LFR. To compare that as fairly as possible to Legion old raid farm speeds, I ran the same bosses on a level 100 Mage on live servers (so the theoretical edge should very much go to the BfA character in that scenario) as well as an endgame Legion character to compare how much faster one expansion’s worth of levels and gear can make.

The conclusion? The level 100 mage on Legion performed significantly better than the level 110 on the BfA alpha. The stat squish definitely does at THIS POINT ON ALPHA make running legacy raids slower and more difficult! Having said that, it’s alpha, and right after a stat squish you’re always going to see exponentially greater power on a level-capped character with some gear since the power level curves up so sharply at endgame. I do not expect this level of legacy raid performance to be the case at level 120 and if it somehow does work out to be a big nerf still, I think it’s likely that it would get hotfixed. Nobody’s trying to kill mog farming. BfA low farming should still be fine.
