Is the Signal messaging app really private? A few days ago, high ranking U.S. government officials, including Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, accidentally invited a New Yorker magazine journalist to their private Signal group chat about whether or not to launch a military attack against Yemen. Also, journalist Tucker Carlson had his supposedly private Signal messages read by the U.S. government. Is Signal the problem, or is there another problem with non-private operating systems and devices, such as macOS, iOS, Windows, and Android?
