Is This Pikmin's Turning Point?
877To say I was highly anticipating the release of Pikmin 4 would honestly be a bit of an understatement. As a fan of the series since the first entry, Pikmin 4 instantly became my most anticipated game of 2023 the moment it was revealed. Not only that, I previously decided to replay each of the prior games for my previous retrospective before its launch in order to generate as much interest as I could headed into its launch. This led me to finally approach Pikmin 4 from a unique perspective. Instead of evaluating the game from a singular perspective, I was able to approach see what had really changed while weighing its design choices against the goals of its developers. What I found was that while I have my own praises and faults with Pikmin 4, this game is so much more important than anything I feel about it. It's a turning point for the Pikmin franchise, leaving me incredibly optimistic about its future.
