When I first saw the flashback showing the events leading up to Vanilla’s “death” and saw them raising the death flag by having her mention that she was going to the grocery store and that it was only ten minutes away, I was instantly reminded of that one scene from the “Danganronpa Despair Arc” anime where Kazuichi gets hit by a truck due to Nagito’s luck due to the parallel’s that it shares with the “Danganronpa” series- having the same creator, featuring a bunch of students with special abilities in a post-apocalyptic setting, a mascot with a black and white color scheme with a symbol over their left eye who’s both playful and murderous, etc- and much to my surprise, Vanilla’s almost killed by a truck.
Though I find it ironic that Kazuichi, a character from a more adult-oriented series that focuses on killing people left and right, gets hit by a truck, gets launched into the air, and complains that he has horrible luck because he required bandages. Meanwhile, Vanilla, who comes from a much lighter game about friendship and how everything will be fine if everyone sticks together, is like “hold my toastmallow” as she gets hit by a truck which leaves her on the verge of death, only to be saved by some creepy cult that worships a computer and is more than happy to kill off kids kidnapping her and storing her in a tank. Thus, this video was born.
