Let’s Play World’s End Club (Blind) - Episode 27: Don’t Reunite with Your Heroes
After discovering that Pochi can apparently recall events that happened on alternate timelines, we head back to Kobe and go down the Kyoto path in an attempt to gather more information that can help us find where Vanilla’s body is being stored, where we reunite with Nyan. However, this reunion isn’t a pleasant one, for not even the great and all-powerful Nyan was safe from MAIK’s nanobots, resulting in him living underground as a husk of his former self, much to Kansai’s dismay- so much so that he’s willing to stand idly by and let Chuko die from that rat bite; because apparently, Chuko can’t catch a break no matter what path we go down.
Though what I don’t get is that MAIK is programmed to want to protect humanity and claims that they tirelessly worked to bring this plan to remove emotion to fruition to accomplish that goal, yet it’s perfectly content to neglect the health of the people it’s supposedly trying to protect- especially the children that it wants to have run the world. You’d think that with all of those invisible flying surveillance cameras that MAIK has monitoring the world, it wouldn’t hesitate to send out medical droids to assist the sick and injured. I mean, with humanity pretty much powerless to stop MAIK, why wouldn’t it modify at least a small portion of its massive droid army to dispense medical assistance instead of having them all guard its facilities. After all, even if people don’t have their emotions, it doesn’t change the fact that their health can be threatened by sickness or injury- especially if their living underground in a time when earthquakes are quite frequent.
