Jackbox Party Pack 3 (Nintendo Switch) Review | 8-Bit Eric | 8-Bit Eric
This is a review of Jackbox Party Pack 3 for the Nintendo Switch by 8-Bit Eric. The Jackbox Party Pack is a collection of games that up to 8 people can play.
The accessibility lies also in the controls, which are all utilized via a website you can reach on your phone tablet, laptop, etc. Each player needs their own touchscreen for not only privacy, but also to write answers and to draw pictures..
Anyone can drop in and start playing almost instantly via a room code; There are five games, Quiplash 2, Trivia Murder Party, Guesspionage, Tee K.O., and Fakin' It.
Most games require at least 2-3 players and can support up to 8 players. Once a game has started, anyone (up to 10,000 people) can join in and participate as a combined audience and help influence the game in different ways.
.
Jackbox also requires Wi-Fi in order to play with your friends who are in the same room as you. Which means no Quiplash while on the road, or in any environment which isn't accessible to the internet The Switch’s portability makes it a great pick for parties,
Quiplash The game begins by providing each player with a “ Fill in the Blank ” field. The idea behind this is to come up with a word or phrase that your opponents like. The game will then cycle through the jokes and the players will have to vote on the one they find funniest. If your answer gets the nod from all players you’ll get the ‘Quiplash’ and a bonus score.
Trivia Murder Party It’s a devious quiz that has you answering questions so you don’t get murdered. If you get a question right, you’re safe. If you get one wrong, you go into a challenge mini-game with everyone else who got it wrong. If you answer the question incorrectly in this mini-game, you’ll receive a penalty going into further rounds, like not being able to pick one of the answers. If you get killed, you can still compete as a ghost and have a chance of coming back into the game.
Guesspinonage - The game has everyone take turns at guessing the percentage from a survey question.
Fakin’ It sees everyone get a task on their device, except for one person – the Faker. That person must then quickly try and work out what everyone else got as their task. This game is best played with people you know well and all in the same room.
Tee K.O.: Players draw on their screens – not necessarily to the best of their ability – to create T-Shirt designs and slogans. Said slogans and shirts will get randomly re-arranged for the players to mix and match for the best (read: funniest) results possible.
Overall The Jackbox Party Pack 3 is a nice little collection of party games to enjoy as long as you have a solid internet connection and 2+ friends with their own web browser of choice.
