Jan Zeleny's Mashinky Tutorial 07 - Multi-Engine Trains! [Tutorial][Gameplay]
Hello, Mashinky fans! In this video, I explore the use of multi-engine trains and how they affect overall traffic on the rail lines. Pumping up the traffic to maximum (well, as maximum as I can get), the rail system traffic is tested. I conclude that using multi-engine trains can indeed help with reducing traffic on the lines.

I use era 1 to test out multi-engines. In one particular part of the rail system, there are tons of passenger trains, log trains, plank trains, and coal trains. The traffic is very heavy in that section of track, but even so, there are no "lockups."
There are times and situations that multi-engine trains may not be as effective. For example, if a single engine train hauling the same resource and resource wagons is longer than 4 tiles, making it a multi-engine train has the possibility of wasting more fuel than two single-engine trains. For a multi-engine train to haul the same as two of its single-engine counterparts, it should stay within the 8 tile limit at full hauling tonnage. If it doesn't, it may be more fuel efficient to use two singles rather than a longer multi-engine. At least that is my observation so far. ;)
Adding another coal mine, forest, and sawmill to the mix, more trains are added to the fun. Take a look and let me know what you think. Do you use multi-engine trains, or are you going to stick with the traditional single engine variety?
If you have any other suggestions, please leave a comment! :)
