Jaws: Ultimate Predator gameplay
Jaws: Ultimate Predator is a goofy and underwhelming game. Right from the start of the game the camera is too close and the enivroment is confusing. And sadly, this doesn’t go away as you progress. The maps still remain confusing.
The best description of the game would be to call it an underwater brawler. It’s nice that you can breeze through enemies and feel like the Ultimate Predator, but the lack of blood is disappointing. Even when you take an animal into your jaws and fling it all over the place there is no blood present. Some enemies leave some sort of red dust, others leave some bubbles behind, but no enemy remains dismembered. Enemies just get hit, and float in one piece of existence. It’s pretty underwhelming since a charm of Jaws are the blood effects.
The enivronments look goofy, and seem picked at random. I mean fighting aligators, swimming under an Egyptian temple, and fighting with robots in a facility ? The game also has boss battles. And the bosses are as easy to breeze through as the normal enemies. In boss battles you don’t brawl, but rather you have quicktime events, which are great to give some variation to the gameplay, and have some flashy action.
The story in the game is goofy too. You fight a corporation. And the cutscenes are some posterized photos with some voice-overs.
Oh, and the game is incredibly buggy. There are times when you’ll need to restart your game because you got stuck in the map.
Overall, the game is a short, goofy and buggy mess. It’s still playable, and you can have fun with it, though, since there are so many better games, why bother with an underwhelming and mediocre game ?
