Playthrough of the first episode (Turtle Terror) of Jazz Jackrabbit, the beloved platformer by Epic Megagames and first released in 1994 (although this version of the game is the CD version, released the following year, which included some extra episodes). Created by Cliff Bleszinski (who would become quite famous later, especially for the Gears of War saga), the game, which is a parody of the fable of the hare and the tortoise, is clearly influenced by Sonic in the gameplay.

I'm playing it on DOSBox SVN-Daum, an alternative version of DOSBox, of which you will not see very good opinions, but something that has surprised me is that configuring it with output=direct3d and vsyncrate=60, the game runs perfectly smooth at 60 fps instead of running at 70 fps as usual in MS-DOS games (in the video although you can see intermittent stuttering, it is a recording thing). This is something that I have observed in other Epic games with the same configuration, it is seen that they were programmed to adapt to the refresh rate of the monitor. However, as in other versions of DOSBox you can not configure the vsyncrate as in this one, the game will go to the usual 70, and therefore will not go smoothly on a monitor at 60 (like mine, yes, an antique for today).

On the other hand, this version of DOSBox also allows to use shaders, and I've put a CRT shader that comes with it, which probably is not to everyone's taste, but I like the way it looks.

This gameplay does not pretend to be perfect or show all the secrets, in fact from the 2nd world I will leave many. It is not a game that I played a lot in its day. In any case, my reason for making this gameplay, besides having a video of this classic in my channel, is to refresh my memory about the game, because the next video will also have to do with this green rabbit who likes big guns (as it says in the intro).
