Sekiro turned out to be a refreshing departure from the previous Souls games. Combat is fantastically razor's edge, and successful deflections leading into Shinobi Deathblows feels fantastic. I think this may be my overall favorite combat system in a Souls-like game, and I hope FromSoft uses a similar system in Elden Ring and future games -- it feels like they finally achieved the "replace health with willpower/determination" concept that inspired the regain system in Bloodborne.

It took me a while to get my bearings (I have NO sense of direction whatsoever), but the significant boost to mobility with the higher movement speed, free sprinting, and grappling hook ended up being really nice (especially with so much extra verticality).
