After being pleasantly surprised with the demo, I’m back on Temple of Snek to see a bit more of the game. It’s currently in Early Access but what I’ve been able to play so far seems pretty fleshed out.

I’m still astonished that you can take a game concept like Snake [snek!] and flesh it out into something so robust. In fact, finally having a look at the map, I can see that the game is pretty gigantic - and since you may need to venture across multiple rooms to solve a given puzzle (with tricky backtracking that can change as the Snek grows), it can be quite the challenge to reach new areas.

One of the bigger discoveries is that the Snek can climb over/under herself, and having to think in the third dimension in general (a bunch of puzzles rely on falling/not falling at appropriate times) makes the game super complex.
